Lisa is a product of her obsessions- cheesy eighties movies and garage sale-ing. Idolizing John Waters' beautiful trash, John Hughes' apple pie plots, and memorizing one too many Rosalind Russell lines. From glam drag to country rustic, 1920s deco to arts and crafts mission; many styles and ideas and always wanting to turn nothing into something. She uses a lot of recycled and thrift store materials in her work- junk shops and flea markets are scoured almost every weekend. Her art is who she is, and she really hates talking about herself, especially in the third person.
She has been a contributing columnist to Fecalface.com and has interviewed such artists as Jesse LeDoux, Susie Ghahremani, and Natalie Roland. Her column on Fecalface.com, Prairie Doggin, also included Sketchbook Monday, an interactive theme based submission column. She is now a contributing artist to Daytrotter.com, an independent music site showcasing new and interesting artists.
Her art is all done by hand using water based paints. Acrylics, airbrush paint, inks and wax- a little bit of everything on vintage papers, found wood, rusted metal. Have a question? Want her for a project? Feel free to mail her. She likes to make new friends.
